My race bib from today. It was a wee little 3k, but still a great run for me being gimped up. We both came in top 10 in our age group. Puppy had a blast running it too!
Preface: weight loss in an individual journey and I know I shouldn’t compare. My mom had weight loss surgery and I believe it was right for her(as with others).
Now with that said I think it’s pretty messed up for a 24 year old woman who has in the past lost a significant amount of weight without surgery to decide to get it. You are not so overweight you can’t move! Why would you put yourself through a MAJOR surgery just because your husband is doing it?
Why does it piss me off? Mainly because she has/will continue to compare her “achievements” in weight loss to mine. I am working really hard, sweating, puking, crying, bleeding, struggling every damned day to do this on my own what I see as the right way and it stings really bad when people assume I just had a surgery or I did some crazy diet or think it’s not a freaking daily battle!
I know I shouldn’t care and I hope she finds what she is looking for. My road is just a lot different and shouldn’t be compared. Sorry if I pushed Any ones buttons I really didn’t mean to. Blah! So frustrating!
End crazy person rant!
This is a new PR! Last week I was sluffing of running so instead of going for distance I tried to accomplish one of my goal. I want to run a sub 10 min. mile. I’ve never done it, I have grippa short legs so who knows if it’s even possible. I tried and although I missed it by 41 seconds I’m still super excited because that is by far the fastest mile I have ever ran in my life! Holla!!!!
First day of being gluten free. I decided to make deviled eggs. I’m not the biggest egg fan but am trying to learn to like them more as I need to protein and runners eat them a lot? Sigh….. So begins my two weeks of gluten free diet to see I I truly am gluten intolerant, maybe it’ll aid in weight loss too??? We can only hope
That time we had a snow storm…
And I hadn’t ran in 5ish days and then the first good day I run 5 miles….
Yeah that happened today!
I also lost 2 pounds! It puts me at 250.
Watch out 240s your days are coming soon!
I registered my hubby and I for our first half this coming September… Long way out but still way excited!
Yup ran in four inches of snow… Two miles nice and slow, kind if a big deal for a Seattle girl. Also, sorry for my hiatus! I’ve ran three races and lost a totally of 34 pounds since I’ve started! I’m back!!!! Wooooo!!!!
That time you fall while in mile 3 of your 4 mile run and as your sitting on the ground in pain all’s you can think is “it was bound to happen sometime!” oh boy am I clumsy…..did I mention it was on an effing pine cone? Don’t be jealous of how rad I am.
Ps I am now down to 258 lbs.
Today was my weigh-in day and I feel great! I ran four miles even with my mishap ad then went for another mile walk with my sister in law. I am right on track to lose my 40 by Christmas day! Yay! I am negative28 wooooooo!!!!
I just registered for my very first race ever. 4 miles on turkey day. I’m scared as hell and very excited.
Ran a mile around a track in 13:25.
I’m SO slow! Ironic thing about that? It’s the fastest I’ve ever done it so I am so stoaked. Another ironic thing? It was at my former college track. The college that perpetuated my overweight, not giving a crap, never exercised lifestyle that got me into my current situation. After my mile bff and I worked out for another hour. What a great friend to help me out.
P.S. We are going to the local farmers market to get delicious fresh stuff for our kick ass dinner tonight. Be jealous.
